Latest Lamb News
Spring 2002 hello every one, and welcome to another installment of lamb news, as you may have noticed, its been a bit quiet in the last couple of months, we have all been taking a much needed holiday. Jon (bass ) has been in the Maldives, Lou has been in Brazil, learning surdo drum, and Oddur (guitar) and i have been in India for the last 2 months. India was fantastic, renting house boats, climbing mountains and going on motor cycle mammoth journeys, were all some of the highlights. I ended my trip doing Vipassina, which means, 'to see things as they really are' . It was the most intense 10 days of my life, the whole time is spent in noble silence, no talking, eye contact, or touch permitted. This is to train, and sharpen the mind, and further aided by the 4-10 hours of meditation per day. At first my body and mind were screaming at me to leave, but now feeling super charged, with loads of energy, and without getting annoyed/angry with the trivialities that used to occupy my head and time. If you're interested check out www.dhamma.org, for centres and info. So, lamb news, lots of festivals are starting to come in, check out the touring section of the site in the next few days, these will be constantly being added thru summer. The live show has changed a little, the addition of new video footage that Zoe and Pete (lights and video) have been working on looks wicked. Lou hits a mighty surdo drum in 'What Sound' and 'Heaven', and I play a fender rhodes in a couple of tracks. A reworking of some of the tracks is in progress, expect more of this as the summer progresses. Am typing this in Portugal, after just playing Coimbra, and Aporto, as usual the Portuguese fans blew us away (especially Porto) and with the band not playing for so long together we had loads of energy to get to the people. When we arrived in Lisbon, we got the added bonus of being awarded our first gold disk, YAY, Portugal what can i say.... you rock. Looking forward to playing Australia, in a couple of weeks time, have been asking for it for years now. Sorry all the people in Brisbane who contacted the site, we really tried to get a show there, but for some reason it didn't come off, i am sure when we've started the ball rolling we will be back soon.
